Goodbye, Hello

The closing Mass at St. Joseph's Parish will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Sunday, 30 December 2012, by Bishop Donald Pelletier, M.S., who has a long connection with our parish.  You can read more about his life and ministry here.  Please join us for a potluck lunch afterwards in the lower church.

The inaugural Mass for St. Vincent de Paul Parish will take place at Holy Ghost Church at 11 a.m. on 1 January 2013.  There will be a social following the Mass in the lower church hall- your food donations are welcome!

Also, in case you missed it, the Sun Chronicle recently ran an article discussing the closing of St. Joseph's Church, viewable by clicking here.  Overall, the tone was positive, although the comments about the suddeness of the merger are misleading (the proposal was publically announced in late September).

La Fiesta de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe

On December 12th, we celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas, with the singing of the traditional songs for the feast day, the Mañanitas, led by musicians from our Spanish community.  Following the songs and rosary was a trilingual Mass, in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.  Some images from the celebration are below.
